The Lightweight Fill Conference is a focused, one-day program dedicated to the latest developments and applications in lightweight fill technologies. Held in conjunction with Geo-Congress 2026, this event brings together researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders to share case studies, performance data, and innovative solutions for geotechnical projects using lightweight materials. The conference provides a platform to share lessons learned and best practices for using lightweight materials to reduce loads, improve stability, and accelerate construction in challenging geotechnical conditions.
Call for Abstracts
We invite abstracts on topics related to lightweight materials, including but not limited to:
- Expanded shale
- Low-density cellular concrete (LDCC)
- Aerated foamed glass
- Geofoam
- Shredded tires
- Related innovations and applications

Registration
This is a separately ticketed, co-located event. Registration for the Lightweight Fill Conference will be part of the main Geo-Congress 2026 registration process and will function similarly to registering for a short course. When registering for Geo-Congress, you will need to select the Lightweight Fill Conference as an additional ticketed item.
